The past few days have been fairly quiet for us, just continuing to hang around Herzo with the McManus family. Greg, Angus, Emily and I went to the adidas outlet on Friday and were completely overwhelmed by the amount of stuff there! Too much stuff and not enough time, particularly with an 18 month old! Angus did pick out some nice shoes and outfits for himself though; I’ll post some pictures soon. We’ve had nice group dinners each evening with everyone (McManus family, Paige and Emily), which has been fun. Emily and Paige are running well, and I think Paige is ready to go! August 23rd is slowwwllly approaching…I know time will start speeding up though and soon we’ll be driving over to Berlin to get settled in there!
Today I went to nearby Nuremburg with Teri and Mike while Greg stayed home with Angus. It was nice to have a mommy break for a bit and sightsee a bit in this historic town. We really just did some shopping on the MarktPlatz but it was nice all the same. I’ll head back next week with everyone else to do the touristy stuff! I am also enjoying just driving through the countryside, seeing the beautiful German towns and all the folks walking and bicycling everywhere. We had dinner tonight in downtown Herzo at Fratellis again, and it was just so nice and peaceful. While we waited for dinner we took Angus to the playground, and then he played in the square near the fountain while we had ice cream afterwards. I walked him home in the stroller with Megan, and he is now sleeping like a baby! Sleep is good, because it has been the one thing we all still lack, mostly because Angus is still having a hard time sleeping through the night. He isn’t the best at it in Flagstaff either, but it is a bit more inconsistent here so far. He has at least not woken up the past two nights with the intention of being up for several hours. He has an insane amount of energy during the day, and is his usual grazing self on food, so you think he’d be exhausted and sleep all night! Not our little guy…it is tough to ask an 18 month old to traipse around Germany for 3 weeks so maybe we shouldn’t expect so much! Well, hopefully it will get better before we get to Berlin…one can only hope!
Tomorrow I think we're headed back to the pool and then maybe we'll start the week with some touring again. We head for Berlin on August 17th so if there are things we want to see in this area this next week is the time to do it. Really, it has just been nice to relax in this lovely town in the Bavarian countryside, so I'm not in a complete rush to play tourist...though Prague is just 2.5 hours away, they say!
