The Nuremburg Zoo was so much fun! I’ve taken Angus to two other zoos so far this spring (Oakland, CA and Melbourne, FL) and this time he was REALLY into it. At every new animal he was so expressive—calling out to them, saying “oh no!” if they pooped, laughing at the flamingo arguments, etc. The split rail fences separating the more tame animals and us were not going to keep Angus back was it not for Mom holding on tight! He had fun with the pushy goats at the petting zoo and was a bit grossed out by the cow that licked his hand! All in all, quite a fun day…
Just an interesting note of history. Teri McManus told us that the Nuremburg Zoo is where it is today because Hitler wanted its former location in the city of Nuremburg as the military parade grounds. So, it was all moved out to what was probably rural or suburban back in the early 1930s but it is now surrounded by development itself. It is a great zoo and city; we highly recommend it!
