Well, our crazy adventure continues! I was missing the boys so much being away in Portland that I changed my flight and am currently flying back a day early. My presentation went well and it was great to see folks at the conference but I was ready to return to Berlin. Luckily Delta was accommodating! It was also a strange experience being at the conference. I’ve changed so much over the past two years that I just didn’t have the patience anymore to sit through it. I had always had attention span issues at these types of meetings but it really just was unbearable. I love Safe Routes to School and there were great folks there with excellent ideas (though there were some stale ideas there too). It is just not how I want to learn about them right now. I like the work I do in the field right now, and I like being engaged in activities in Arizona. And that’s great.
Onward to Berlin then! While I was away I understand that Angus and Greg visited many parks, cruised the hotel and the adidas hospitality suite, ate good food, and attended the track meet! Angus even got to meet the Olympic gold medalist in the 100m from 2000, Maurice Greene! From what I hear they were rubbing elbows in the adidas VIP area at the Olympic Stadium! What a lucky boy—I’m talking about Mo Greene, of course! It’s not every day that you get to meet a boy like Angus!
Good luck to Paige! We can't wait to see all of you home again! Thanks for all the great blogs! I
